Fall in Song

yoginis out on the town

Girls night at Infinity Hall in Norfalk, CT

Inspiration for living life fully found through music. Earlier this year I shared with a friend an artist I enjoy greatly Peter Mayer. His songs are about interconnectedness and the human journey; about the beauty and the mystery of the world. Whimsical, humorous, and profound, his music breaks the boundaries of “folk”, and transcends to a realm beyond the everyday love song, to a place of wonder at the very fact of life itself.

His talent sparked an interest in my friend to find more of this music which in turn led to another amazing artist Cheryl Wheeler. Cheryl is a gifted songwriter with a beautiful voice; often emotional portraits of people, leaving you with the impression that you know the characters. You find yourself being dragged into the song rather than standing outside and observing.

The first song I heard of Cheryl’s was “When Fall Comes to New England”. I was deeply touched by the words and how she captures the season with this song so clearly. When I listen to this song I catch my breath as if I could smell the changes in the crisp fall air. I pause with my eyes closed each time (unless I’m driving) with great thanks for living in New England and understanding first hand the tangible transition of fall in this piece. I find such joy in the colors, shorter days, new scent in the fresh cool air, I gravitate towards warm hearty foods and so much more in is in store during my favorite season.

Join me for a Guided Hike Saturday October 30, 2010 8:30-10:00AM
– Spring Street entrance (look for the water fall).

This will be an awesome experience of Fall in New England…see Yogaborn’s Events for more details
